By Dr. Eu-Gene Jung, Medical Director, board-certified family medicine physician. EU:GENES Skin Clinic, Apgujeong.
Most of our international patients find us the same way: a search for an English-speaking clinic in Gangnam, a few evenings reading forum threads, and then a WhatsApp message asking whether the doctor really does the treatment herself. This page answers the questions we get before the first visit, so you can decide whether EU:GENES is the right fit and plan your trip around it. For the treatments themselves, each has its own guide, linked at the end.
Who we are, in one paragraph
EU:GENES Skin Clinic is a cosmetic dermatology and laser clinic in Apgujeong, Seoul, focused on non-surgical lifting (Ultherapy Prime, Thermage FLX, ONDA and Titanium, threads), injectables (Botox, filler, skin boosters) and doctor-supervised fat-dissolving injections. Three physicians practise here: Dr. Eu-Gene Jung, Medical Director and board-certified family medicine physician with 11 years of clinical experience; Dr. Yu-Min Gwon, board-certified surgeon; and Dr. Hyeon-Gyeong Kim, physician, who trained as an observer in the Department of Dermatology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. We describe ourselves as a boutique clinic rather than a factory-style one: the point is personalised planning and the doctor's own time, not volume.
How a visit works
1. Book in English. WhatsApp is the fastest channel: wa.link/eugenes (+82-10-3476-9829). LINE, WeChat (ID: eugenesclinic) and KakaoTalk also work, and the English website has a 1:1 consultation form. Tell us your concern, your travel dates and, if you have them, a few photos. That lets us prepare a draft plan before you arrive.
2. Two-step consultation. On arrival a consultation manager goes through your history, concerns and budget. Then the Medical Director examines you in person before anything is decided. Your face is checked from every angle and expression (turning, up and down, eyes open and closed, neutral and smiling, sitting and lying down), because the contour changes between positions and the plan has to account for that.
3. The doctor performs the treatment. Ultherapy and Thermage shot placement is planned and carried out by the physician, not delegated to assistants. Shot counts are set by what your face needs, with left and right balance checked once more immediately before treatment.
4. Comfort. For Ultherapy, numbing cream is applied for 30 minutes; local or sleep anaesthesia can be arranged after consultation if you are sensitive to pain. Thermage FLX has built-in cooling and vibration. Ice is applied before Newfit injections.
5. Aftercare in English. Aftercare is explained in English, and you can message the same WhatsApp number afterwards with questions.
Pricing: what we will and will not tell you in advance
Prices are not published on the website, and we do not quote a figure before the Medical Director has seen you, because the number of shots or the amount of product is what sets the price and that depends on your face. What we do commit to is transparency: at the consultation the plan is explained with shot counts, areas and the price for that plan before anything starts. Each treatment guide on this blog explains what drives the cost, so you can compare quotes between clinics on the same basis. If you need the payment methods accepted for your situation, ask on WhatsApp when you book and we will confirm.
Hours that work for tourists and working expats
| Day | Hours | Last registration |

| Monday and Friday | 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM | 7:00 PM |
| Tuesday to Thursday | 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM (break 4:00 to 5:00 PM) | 6:00 PM |
| Saturday | 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM | 2:30 PM |

There is no lunch-hour closure, so a lunchtime visit is fine. Monday and Friday evenings and Saturday are the usual slots for visitors on a tight itinerary and for expats who work Gangnam hours.
Getting here
402 Yurim Art Hall, 49 Apgujeong-ro 28-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. From Apgujeong Station (Line 3) Exit 4 it is about 300 metres, a three-minute walk: turn into the alley beside the KB Kookmin Bank branch and the building is on the right. Building parking is free for the first two hours; valet is available.
Planning your trip around treatment
Two or three days in Seoul. Message us before you fly with dates and photos. Thermage FLX, Botox, filler and skin boosters are single-visit treatments with little downtime; Ultherapy is also a single session, and its result builds over two to three months, so you do not need to stay to see it. Whether consultation and treatment can happen on the same day depends on the treatment and the schedule, so ask when booking rather than assuming.
A week or more. This opens combination plans: Ultherapy and Thermage planned by facial area over one or two visits, or a skin-booster series started here. Leave the last day or two free of treatment so any swelling or bruising has settled before travel.
Living in Seoul. Fat-dissolving injections (three to five sessions), skin-booster courses and ONDA maintenance every three to six months are easier as a resident. Many expat patients come on Saturday mornings.
Before you fly home. General guidance from our aftercare: after Ultherapy, avoid sauna, alcohol and smoking for about a week. After Titanium lifting, avoid sauna, jjimjilbang and strenuous exercise for a week; face washing and light makeup are fine the same day. After Botox, stay upright for about four hours. After filler, do not press or massage the area. After a thread lift, you can wash your face the same day and should wait two weeks for a sauna; bruising and swelling are the main reasons to leave a few days before a long flight, and the doctor will tell you what is realistic for your dates at the consultation.
Questions worth asking any Gangnam clinic
Forum recommendations change, and a thread from two years ago may describe a clinic that has since changed hands. Rather than rely on them, ask these questions on WhatsApp before you book anywhere, including with us:
- Who performs the Ultherapy or Thermage, the doctor or a nurse or assistant?
- Are genuine Ultherapy tips used? EU:GENES holds a Merz certification plaque for genuine Ultherapy tips, reported by Medical Today in December 2023.
- How many shots are planned for my face, and how was that number decided?
- Will I see the doctor before paying?
- What happens if I need to ask something after I leave Korea?
A clinic that answers these clearly is usually a clinic that plans treatment the same way.
