Botox and filler are the treatments international patients book most often on a short trip to Seoul, and the questions are consistent: how much is jaw Botox and how long does it last, is the product genuine, can you make filler look natural, and can you dissolve filler that was done elsewhere. Overview: two different tools

Botulinum toxin relaxes a muscle for a few months. It softens expression lines (forehead, frown lines, crow's feet), slims a bulky jaw muscle (masseter), and can be placed very superficially for pores and oil control (skin Botox). The original product, Botox Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA), is licensed by the FDA (FDA BLA 103000); several Korean-made toxins are also approved and widely used in Korea.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) filler adds volume or structure: lips, under-eye hollows, nose bridge, chin, jawline, cheeks, temples, smile lines. HA fillers can be reversed with an enzyme, hyaluronidase. Masseter (jaw) Botox for face slimming

A wide lower face is often muscle rather than bone or fat. Injecting toxin into the masseter reduces the muscle's bulk over the following weeks. A 2026 systematic review and meta-analysis in the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery confirms the effect on masseter hypertrophy (Machado et al., 2026), and a 2025 prospective study measured both the reduction in facial volume and the temporary change in chewing function after injection (Sawadsopanont et al., 2025).

What to expect: slimming begins at around two to four weeks, is most visible at about three months, and is commonly maintained for four to six months. With repeated sessions the interval often lengthens because the muscle stays smaller. Chewing hard food can feel weaker for a few weeks. Masseter Botox is not the right plan when the width comes from bone or from fat under the jaw, or when the cheeks are already hollow, because slimming the muscle can make hollowness more obvious; this is checked at the consultation.

Skin Botox (intradermal toxin)

Skin Botox, also called meso Botox, places diluted toxin very superficially across the face rather than into a muscle. It is used for pores, oiliness and fine surface lines, and does not freeze expression when placed correctly. A 2026 randomized split-face trial in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal evaluated intradermal botulinum toxin for facial rejuvenation (Alzayadneh et al., 2026). The effect is subtle and typically lasts two to three months.

Genuine brands: what to ask

Counterfeit or unlicensed toxin is a real safety issue worldwide; a 2025 case series in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal documented botulism after illegal cosmetic injections (Qiu et al., 2025). In a licensed Korean clinic the practical questions are simple: which product will be used, who is injecting, and how many units. You are welcome to ask us all three before treatment. A quote that is far below what other clinics charge is a reason to ask those questions, not proof of a problem.

Natural-looking filler without overfilling

The goal is that nobody can tell you had filler. That comes from choosing the right plane and product for each area and from using less than the face can technically hold. Asian faces have their own proportions and priorities, which is why there is a dedicated expert consensus on injectable strategies for the Asian face (Wu, Liew et al., 2020). At EU:GENES, cheeks and chin are usually built gradually, the under-eye area is treated with very small amounts, and we would rather add a little at a follow-up than correct overfilling.

Filler carries a small but serious risk: injection into or around a blood vessel. It is the reason filler should be injected by a physician who knows facial anatomy and who has hyaluronidase on hand. We explain this risk before treatment.

Filler dissolving with hyaluronidase

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid. It is used to correct overfilled or migrated HA filler and, urgently, to treat a vascular complication. A 2026 paper in JPRAS Open discusses how filler reversal actually works and why "dissolving" is an oversimplification (Ravindran et al., 2026); ultrasound-guided hyaluronidase for vascular events is described in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (Schelke et al., 2026).

Two facts matter if you are planning to have filler removed in Seoul. First, only hyaluronic acid fillers respond. Collagen stimulators such as Sculptra, Juvelook, Radiesse or Ellansé cannot be dissolved this way. Second, more than one session is sometimes needed, and a small allergy risk means we ask about previous reactions. Bring any record of the product and amount that was injected; if you do not have one, we assess the area at the consultation.

What changes the price of Botox and filler in Korea

1. Units or area. Korean clinics often quote toxin per area rather than per unit. Ask how many units an "area" includes, especially for the masseter, where the dose varies with muscle size.

2. Brand of toxin. Imported and Korean-made toxins are priced differently. Ask which product the quote refers to.

3. Filler product and amount. Filler is priced per syringe (usually 1 cc), and the product differs by area. The number of syringes is set at the consultation.

4. Who injects. Physician injection after an in-person consultation is priced differently from delegated treatment.

5. Dissolving is separate. Hyaluronidase treatment is quoted on its own, and refilling afterwards is a separate plan.

Aftercare

• Botox: avoid alcohol, sauna and facial massage for two to three days beforehand; stay upright for about four hours afterwards.

"Skin booster" is a Korean umbrella term, and it covers products that do very different things. Rejuran Healer

Rejuran is a polynucleotide (PN) injectable derived from salmon DNA, manufactured in Korea by PharmaResearch under the Rejuran brand. Polynucleotides have been studied as a regenerative injectable: a 2026 expert review in Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology summarizes the evidence for PN in aesthetic medicine (Rho et al., 2026), a 2024 study reported improvement in facial redness with PN plus hyaluronic acid intradermal injections (Lee et al., 2024), and a 2026 prospective study looked at PN injections for lines around the eyes (Ziade et al., 2026). Korean physicians also commonly use PN for enlarged pores, as documented in a 2024 practice survey (Lee et al., 2024).

At EU:GENES the session runs consultation, numbing cream, then injection with a fine needle or a mesotherapy gun. Redness and small bumps at the injection points usually settle within 24 to 48 hours, and the visible change in texture and hydration develops over two to four weeks. A 2025 imaging study measured how dermal thickness differs across ten facial areas after PN injection, which is why injection depth is adjusted by area rather than kept uniform (Kim et al., 2025).

Juvelook and Juvelook Volume

Juvelook combines poly-D,L-lactic acid (PDLLA) microparticles with hyaluronic acid. The PDLLA particles stimulate collagen as they are absorbed, so the effect builds over weeks. Juvelook is used for pores, texture and fine lines; Juvelook Volume is a denser version used where lift is needed, such as nasolabial folds and hollow temples. A 2026 split-face study compared a PDLLA-based product with PLLA on the nasolabial fold (Park et al., 2026).

Because Juvelook Volume is placed deeper and in areas with important blood vessels, injection technique matters. A 2026 consensus paper specifically addresses safe injection technique and the rare risk of vascular events with PDLLA-HA products (Lau et al., 2026). Sculptra

Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator made by Galderma. It has FDA premarket approval in the United States (FDA PMA P030050), with an indication added in 2023 for fine lines in the cheek region. Results appear gradually over two to three months as collagen forms, and typically last well beyond a year. Sculptra suits patients in their 40s and 50s with volume loss in the cheeks and temples who want a natural, slow change rather than immediate filler volume. We inject conservatively, in sessions spaced weeks apart, and prefer to add a session later than to overfill on the first visit.

Exosome after Potenza or laser

Exosomes are tiny vesicles released by cells that carry growth factors and signalling molecules. In Korea, exosome products for the skin are classified as cosmetics, so they are applied to the skin after a procedure that opens micro-channels, such as Potenza RF microneedling, Sylfirm X or laser toning, rather than injected. Recent reviews summarize the human evidence: a 2026 systematic review and meta-analysis in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal (Stack et al., 2026) and a 2026 scoping review in the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology (Wang et al., 2026). The evidence supports faster recovery and improved skin quality after procedures, and the field is still young, so we present exosome therapy as an add-on to a procedure, not as a stand-alone treatment.

Rejuran vs Juvelook vs Sculptra: which one for which concern

• Pores, texture, dull or thin skin in the 20s to 40s: Rejuran first. Juvelook if pores and texture are the main complaint and you want a collagen effect on top.

• Redness-prone or sensitive skin: Rejuran, which has been studied for facial erythema.

• Nasolabial folds without much overall volume loss: Juvelook Volume.

• Overall volume loss in the cheeks and temples in the 40s and 50s: Sculptra.

ONDA is the treatment we recommend most often for a double chin that is part fat and part loose skin, and for patients who want a lifting session with no anesthesia and no downtime. It is also the treatment international patients understand least, partly because Korean clinics pair it with "Titanium lifting" under names like Ontanium. This page explains what ONDA actually is, what Titanium lifting is (honestly), how we combine them, how long results last, how many sessions a double chin needs, and what changes the price.

Overview: what ONDA is

ONDA is a microwave device made by DEKA in Italy, marketed as Coolwaves (DEKA, ONDA product page). It delivers microwave energy at 2.45 GHz through two handpieces. The deep handpiece is tuned so that the energy is absorbed mainly in the subcutaneous fat layer while the skin surface is cooled; the shallow handpiece targets the dermis for skin tightening. Heating fat cells and the fibrous bands around them reduces localized fat and firms the overlying skin over the following weeks.

The published evidence is recent and specific to the areas we treat. A 2025 study in Lasers in Medical Science reported on microwave technology for submental skin laxity, the under-chin area (Zappia et al., 2025). A 2026 retrospective comparison in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal by Korean authors evaluated a microwave device for facial rejuvenation (Nam et al., 2026). For the body, the Onda Coolwaves International Advisory Board published treatment recommendations for cellulite and localized fat in 2024 (Hoffmann et al., 2024). ONDA is CE-marked in Europe. It is a body-contouring and tightening device, not a deep-layer lift like Ultherapy, and we explain that difference at every consultation.

What Titanium lifting is

"Titanium lifting" in Korean clinics refers to treatment with the Alma Soprano Titanium, a triple-wavelength diode laser (755, 810 and 1064 nm) made by Alma Lasers (Alma Lasers, Soprano Titanium). The device is cleared by the FDA as a hair-removal platform (FDA 510(k) K222064). Its use for facial tightening developed in Korean practice: the same gradual, comfortable heating that the device delivers for hair removal warms the dermis, and clinics use it along the jawline and nasolabial folds for a mild firming effect. The published evidence for this facial use is limited compared with Ultherapy or Thermage; a 2025 paper discusses the proposed role of the multiwavelength diode laser in facial aging (Wan et al., 2025). We present Titanium as a comfortable, low-downtime add-on to ONDA, not as a substitute for a deeper lifting treatment.

How long ONDA lasts and how many sessions a double chin needs

Fat reduction from ONDA is gradual: the change becomes visible over four to eight weeks as the body clears the treated fat, and skin firmness improves over the same period. A single session produces a visible change for many patients, and the clinic's usual recommendation is a course with sessions spaced three to six months apart, adjusted to how much fat and laxity there is. For a double chin, the number of sessions depends on the volume of fat under the chin; the plan is set at the consultation and can be revised after the first session. Maintenance every three to six months keeps the contour once the target is reached.

Pain, downtime and sightseeing

ONDA is done without anesthesia. Most patients describe a deep warmth under a cooled surface. Immediately afterwards the area may be pink and slightly swollen for a few hours; occasional tenderness or a small bruise settles on its own. There are no wounds, no dressings and no restrictions on washing or makeup. Patients regularly continue their day, including sightseeing, after the session. As with any heat-based treatment, avoid saunas and intense heat on the day.

Overview: what Thermage FLX is

Thermage uses monopolar radiofrequency. A treatment tip delivers radiofrequency energy that heats the dermis and the fibrous layer beneath it as one volume, while the surface is cooled. The heat causes existing collagen to contract right away and stimulates new collagen over the following months. Ultherapy, by comparison, uses focused ultrasound to heat small points at set depths. 600 shots explained

Thermage is counted in shots, meaning the number of pulses delivered by the tip. Each tip has a fixed number of pulses and is used once.

• Full face is usually treated with the 4.0 cm² face tip. A 600-shot tip is the common full-face plan; a 900-shot tip is used when the neck is added or the face is larger.

• Eyes use a separate small eye tip with its own shot count, because the skin of the eyelid is thin and the area is small.

• Distribution matters more than the total. The shots are spread by area according to the plan: more passes where the skin is loose, fewer where it is already firm. Two patients can receive the same 600 shots with very different results depending on how they are placed.

Thermage Eyes

Thermage has a dedicated eye tip for the upper and lower eyelids and the area around the eyes. Tightening of eyelid skin with a radiofrequency eye tip was described in 2007 (Carruthers and Carruthers, Dermatologic Surgery), with a safety evaluation published alongside it (Biesman et al., 2007). Protective eye shields are placed during treatment. Patients in their early 40s with mild loosening of the upper eyelid or fine lines under the eyes are the typical candidates. What changes the Thermage FLX price in Korea

Overview — what Ultherapy Prime is

Ultherapy is a non-surgical lifting treatment that uses micro-focused ultrasound with visualization (MFU-V). 300 lines or 600? How we decide

Does Ultherapy hurt?
